5 hacks to get your fitness mojo going

‘Beep, beep, beep’ your 6am alarm goes off and you start making a million excuses on why you don’t need your morning ‘sweat sesh’… don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Working regular exercise into your routine takes a lot of determination, and discipline.

We’ve nutted down our top 5 hacks on how you can get your fitness mojo back on track!

1. Record and plan in your workouts

Visual cues are one of the best ways to remind us to keep exercise a priority.

So lay your clothes out the night before and leave your gym bag in a prime location that you'll never miss, such as the door. Also, record and schedule your daily fitness routines and the changes you notice happening to your body. It will help you stay motivated as you see the progress.

2. Track your gains

One of the best ways to stay motivated is by seeing results. Take a photo or weight yourself regularly. It's okay to look at yourself in the mirror and feel good about the progress you're making. If you apply yourself properly you will see results and those results will drive you to get even better.

3. Get a supportive gym buddy

A gym buddy with the similar goals as you not only makes the workouts more enjoyable and bearable, but also keeps you motivated and accountable. When you’re going in alone, it’s easy to make up excuses not to go but you’re less likely to hit the snooze or make up excuses if you know you’re ditching your gym buddy.

4. Set realistic goals

Don’t go watching all those videos on ‘My 3 week transformation’. In reality, most of those are not as simple as they are made out to be and can be quite de-motivating. Instead set realistic short term goals that are challenging enough that you will feel good for completing them, and easy enough that they are attainable in the time frame you give yourself.

5. Invest in workout gear

Having the right clothing not only makes you look the part but it also gives you the confidence to play the part. Stock up on at least a week’s worth to avoid any excuses such as ‘I don’t have any clean gym clothes today’ Look for clothes that are comfy and show off your assets.
